Mechanical Analysis Software Offers New Pedestrian Protection Capability
Troy, MI—A new version of ETA’s mechanical engineering simulation software, the Inventium Suite® 2012 R2, which includes PreSys® for finite element modeling and four eta/VPG® modules for system analysis, was released today with many new and enhanced features, including pedestrian protection analysis tools, tire modeling tools and road simulation capabilities.
“We are very proud of this software release. For those engineers with requirements for application-specific system analysis, the eta/VPG® modules are powerful tools for Drop Test, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Safety, Vehicle Dynamics and Structural Analyses,” said Abraham Keisoglou, ETA, CEO.
In the Safety module, a new pedestrian protection function was added. With streamlined workflow and powerful visualization techniques, users can setup a series of pedestrian impact analysis jobs very efficiently according to Euro NCAP or GTR standard testing. The enhanced post-processor can scan results from multiple jobs to evaluate each impact location.
The Structure module offers some helpful new vehicle dynamics features. With new tire and road technology the user can create, assemble and align tires and create a cleat test easily. A road can be chosen from a built-in library consisting of 12 road types, while one can also be created from a parametric template.
In PreSys®, meshing operations and selection methods are more streamlined than ever, expanding the capabilities and usability of the software. A new “shape-mesher” creates shell or solid meshes in primary shapes (box, cone, cylinder, sphere and torus) and a new beam section library includes American, Canadian, European and Indian beam section standards.
